Shine Academically and Artistically
Shine Arts Alliance provides quality performing arts-infused project-based Programs(after-school, summer camp and more) for children in grades K-8th in the inner-city West Philadelphia region and abroad. We assure students obtain our school model: Shine Academically and Artistically. Academic intervention is offered by way of support in reading and writing. Artistically, we provide quarterly cause-driven arts projects in Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Media Arts instruction and performance. Our ultimate mission is to lead, educate and elevate the young artists in the inner-city community by creating feasible yet equal opportunities for them to foster their creative talents in a diverse and professional performing art, media arts and visual arts program.
Arts Classes
Shine Arts Alliance will be offering theatre and dance courses to students in grades K-8th grade starting February of 2023. Quarterly productions will follow.
ACT OUT: Theatre Course
A project-based three-stage acting course that gives students the fundamental basics of improvisation, monologue, and dialogue techniques including warm-up movement and writing exercises, and vocal training. Additionally, students gain knowledge and the vocabulary for scenic design, costume design, stage management, and technical theatre support. At the close of the program, students participate in a production. Class is managed by professional teaching artists.

DANCE ABOUT IT
Hip-Hop & Modern dance class- An intro-level hip-hop and modern dance course for students in grades k-8th. Students learn the fundamental basics of ballet, hip-hop, and modern techniques and vocabulary. At the close of each quarter, students have the opportunity to participate in a dance recital. The class is managed by professional dance instructors.
